Initial Consultation
Your initial consultation may be longer than a regular dental check. It is an appointment where we really get to know about your lifestyle and past medical and dental history. We will, of course, examine the head and neck structures related to the mouth before examining the mouth itself. Low radiation digital radiographs (x-rays) will be taken and other special tests may be done or ordered. Once we have all the information we need, we will present you with a diagnosis and discuss treatment options.
Patient Information
What to Expect at Your First Visit
Your first assessment is designed to help us understand your needs and build a personalised plan.
During the visit, we may:
- Take a detailed medical and dental history
- Review current concerns and symptoms
- Perform a comprehensive oral examination
- Capture 3D imaging (CBCT) if indicated
- This ensures we understand both your clinical picture and what you hope to achieve.
Frequently asked questions
BEFORE TREATMENT
Before Your Appointment
To help us make the most of your visit:
Please bring:
- Any recent dental X-rays or CBCT scans
- List of current medications
- Details of other medical conditions
Referral letters (if applicable)
Helpful tips:
- Eat normally unless advised otherwise
- Wear comfortable clothing for longer consultations
- Plan transport if sedation is likely
- We will send pre-appointment forms online so you can complete them before your visit.
Diagnostic Imaging & Evaluation
For many implant cases and complex evaluations (such as cavitations, chronic jaw discomfort, or facial pain), we may recommend:
- 3D CBCT Imaging
This provides accurate, three-dimensional views of bone anatomy, nerve
pathways, and sinus relationships - essential for:
- planning implant placement
- evaluating jawbone conditions
- assessing surrounding structures for safety and predictability
- Imaging is reviewed in real time with you so you clearly understand the findings and implications.
Treatment Planning
After clinical and imaging assessment, we will provide:
- a diagnosis
- recommended options
- estimated timelines
- cost overview
- any preparatory steps (such as gum health optimisation)
- We do not believe in “one-size-fits-all” solutions. Your plan is crafted based on your anatomy, goals, and overall health.
TREATMENT
Ceramic Dental Implant Procedures
If ceramic (zirconia) implants are appropriate for you, your treatment plan may include:
- consultation and imaging
- extraction of any compromised teeth (if needed)
- site preparation and decontamination
- implant placement
- use of regenerative support (e.g., PRF) where indicated
- temporary restorations
- final restoration with customised crowns
We explain each stage in detail, including aftercare and maintenance.
Sedation and Comfort Options
We recognise that dental procedures can be anxiety-provoking. Based on clinical needs and your comfort level, we offer:
- Oral sedation
- Nitrous oxide (laughing gas)
- Referral for deeper sedation when appropriate
These options are discussed during your consultation and scheduled accordingly.
AFTER TREATMENT
Post-Treatment Recovery
After treatment, you will receive:
- personalised care instructions
- contact details for post-op support
review appointments to monitor healing
For implant and surgical cases, we emphasise:
- gum and bone healing timelines
- inflammation control
- pain and swelling management
- regenerative support (if used)
